Description:
Portage Quarry offers a full service Dive Shop with Air Stations, Rental Gear, and lessons. Facilities include: sandy beach with lifeguards, horseshoes, three sand volley courts, camping, catch and release fishing. Reservations may be made for company picnics, class and family reunions and Frat & Sorority Social events.
Portage Quarry is located about 1 hour and 45 minutes north of Columbus. The max depth is 60 feet and the thermocline drops to about 35 feet in mid July. There is a grain silo located in 55 feet of water with the top at 15 feet. The quarry has many boat and car wrecks and a nice swimming beach. Camping is available.
From Columbus, go north on Route 23 to Route 15 north and follow signs to I-75. Follow I-75 north for about 15 minutes to the Cygnet/Route 25 exit. Take the exit and follow the signs to Rout 25 North. Travel on Route 25 north into Portage, OH and continue on past the town to the quarry entrance on your left (look for the sign that says Portage Quarry Recreation).
